Chapel Trail Nature Preserve In Pembroke Pines

The preserve is set-up on a 450-acre park on the edge of Pembroke Pines. It is a picturesque location to view a piece of fauna and flora from the Everglades ecosystems of Florida. The park, which was established in 1990s, is the home of several species of birds and animals. In fact, this wetland is the home to more than 130 species of deer, birds, alligator, rabbits, largemouth bass, turtles, and insects. The Chapel Trail Nature Preserve gives you excellent exposure to natural settings without being exposed to swamps, alligators, stifling heat, and muddy trails. It is also an ideal location to explore from a canoe or to go for hiking. When you visit the preserve, you will find a boardwalk that is peppered with several benches for your comfort. This boardwalk is 1650 feet long and it cuts through the open water and with signboards detailing some of the flora and fauna you are likely to see in the preserve. When you head over the open waters, you are likely to see many turtles swimming by, in addition to cichlids, largemouth bass, and ga.

If you want to avoid exploring the preserve on foot, you can explore it on a canoe. The rental for the canoe is one of the cheapest you will find in Florida. If you are planning a short trip to the park, you can hire the canoe on hourly-basis. However, if you are planning a long trip to the park, then it is best to choose the 4-hour or the full day option. The canoe is only available on Saturdays, so make sure you call them and reserve your canoe in advance. At the preserve, many birds including wading birds fly overhead constantly. If you use the boardwalk, you may not be able to spot these birds easily. Hiring a canoe will make it easy for you to spot these birds and make your trip to the preserve fruitful.

CB Smith Park In Pembroke Pines

The C B Smith Park is one of the most diverse and popular parks in Florida. The park offers several amenities to visitors, which include a tennis complex, large RV campground, a golfing center, and several other amenities. You can also use this park for family outings. Picnic tables, grills, and shelters are available throughout the park. Some important amenities available include:

Gatherings

This park is used by people for formal and social gatherings. For instance, you can hold a gathering of 250 or more people after getting park approval. Once you get their approval, you will be issued a Park Permit that will address such items as traffic control, clean up, trash removal, and several other instructions. They also have two corporate pavilions for gatherings of up to 500 people, a meeting cabin for those looking for a gathering of up to 300 people, 5 extra large shelters for a gathering of up to 160 people, and 6 large and 8 medium shelters for smaller gatherings.

Batting Cages and Golf Facility

The cages and the facility are located near the entrance. It offers the visitors a covered diving range which is well lighted and has a miniature golf course, short game area, and a pro shop that stocks products of well-known brands. They also have variable-speed batting cages for baseball and softball.

Campground

C B Smith Park also has a campground that is equipped with water, electricity, grills, picnic tables, and sewer hook-ups. Unfortunately, tent camps are not available at the park, so make sure you get your own tents to avoid disappointment. Some of the other facilities available at the campground include a laundry, heated showers, and restrooms. You are allowed to take up to two pets to the campsite.

Tennis

Visitors to the park can also use the free open play Tennis courts. Courts can be used on first-come first-serve basis. You can use up to six balls and can play up to one hour.

A few other facilities available at the park include fishing, basketball court, biking park, playgrounds, volleyball court, and a jogging path.

Hockey Leagues

They have leagues for people of all levels and ages. Their adult program runs throughout the year for skill levels from beginners to advanced level. The standard league consists of 12 to 16 games per season excluding playoffs. You can play for up to 3 seasons in a year. Ice hockey league for youngsters usually consists of one practice and one game per week, except during summers when they organize just one game.

Skate School

The group classes at Pines Ice Arena follow the rules and guidelines of USA hockey or US Figure Skating. Also, the coaches of the program have had background checks done by the USA hockey or US Figure Skating and are SafeSport certified. Apart from offering special skating programs for professionals, some of the programs offered to the general public include the introduction to ice skating program, acceleration program for beginners, and the 8-week learn to skate program.

Birthday Parties

If you plan to host a birthday party at the Pines Ice Arena, you can select a package depending your needs and budget. For those with a limited budget, the 2-hour table party is the best option. They also have a 4-hour party pack for those looking for a longer duration package. Some items included in birthday party package include balloons, tablecloth, plates, cups, napkins, invitations, unlimited popcorn, t-shirt for the birthday kid, and snow show.
